On the 10th and 11th of September 2019, the fifth and final management meeting of the European Project DS LEISURE took place in Craiova, Romania. DS LEISURE is funded by the European Commission within the ERASMUS+ 2017 Programme, Strategic Partnerships for Adult Education.

During two years, under the coordination of ALDO-CET (Romania), more than 160 people with Down syndrome, families, support educators and professionals of leisure sector have been trained and participated in the validation of the 4 intellectualoutputs of the project. This European project proves that the competences in terms of attitudes, skills and knowledge of people with Down Syndrome and of the collective around them can be successfully increased using the DS LEISURE training materials, practical experiences and e-platform.

The access in leisure environments, participation and learning performance of people with Down Syndrome and other intellectual disabilities, with regard to inclusive leisure, have been successfully trained with the support of 3 learning dimensions: face to face learning in class, inclusive leisure exercises in the framework of 10 experiential activities and e-learning with the support of games, virtual scenarios and on-line exercises.

The partners carried out the revision of all the training materials and e-platform. Each entity shared the own experiences gained during the validation actions, the results achieved and the feedback of users. Possible improvement of the training materials and e-platform were discussed as well. The partners agreed that according to the satisfaction questionnaires and evaluation forms, the training materials are very useful for people with Down Syndrome, as well as for the professionals and family members working or living with them. The project exploitation plan was discussed in details. The partners enjoyed a social dinner where they shared ideas about potential further common projects.
