The Greek Down Syndrome Association successfully attends the “DS-Leisure” Co-Creation Working Session
On Tuesday, March 27, 2018, the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), represented by researchers of the Assistive Technologies And Silver Science (ASOSS) group of the Medical Physics Laboratory, organized the “DS-Leisure” Co-Creation Working Session with End-User in Down Syndrome Association.
A total number of twenty two (22) participants (thirteen people with Down syndrome, three professionals of leisure sector, a parent, three educators and two mediators from AUTH) attended the working session. Three smaller groups including 3-5 PDS, an educator and a professional of leisure sector were formed. The session followed the working methodology agreed by the Project Consortium. Each group discussed, worked and rated 5 out of 15 activities that have been proposed, under the guidance of the AUTH’s educators. In the end of the session, the Greek PDS proposed the ten most important activities, according to their opinion, to be developed during DS LEISURE project.
On behalf of the “DS Leisure” Project Consortium, we would like to express our special thanks to all attendants for their response, their active participation and the valuable help they provided at this very productive session. Their contribution has been crucial to the continuity and development of the project. We also want to thank the Down Syndrome Association, its Board of Directors and its Head Mr. Stavros Tsiflikis, as well as, the parents and the Greek PDS members of the Association for their warm hospitality, their support and their close cooperation with the AUTΗ research team.
